Information about this site
Me:
I am a biology teacher at Harrogate Ladies College in North Yorkshire.
I started this page as a collection of useful links for teachers and pupils.
The Pages:
When you see this
symbol, it means that the site has been recommended (by me!) as a particularly
good one.
Key Stage 2 - This page contains some primary sites, mostly appropriate
to years 5 and 6.
Key Stage 3 - This page contains some biology and other science
sites for years 7 to 9.
GCSE - Sites for GCSE biology, now rearranged to fit the new AQA specification for Core, Additional and Biology modules.
iGCSE - Have just started teaching this course. For now, many pages link back to the relevant GCSE pages. Will be adding more to this over the next year.
A level pages - For AS and A2 there is the main A level biology
page. Ecology, Genetics, Nervous system and Microbes + disease have their
own pages. I will be adding new sites relevant to the AQA 2008 specification as I find them.
Teachers - I have indicated whether sites are UK or US based, and
whether they contain resources or just links.
Wildlife - I help to run a Wildlife Watch group for 8-11 year olds,
and have included in this page sites that they would find interesting.
PSHE - sites relating to PSHE and citizenship - mostly for key
stages 2 and 3.
General Science sites - This page includes sites that don't fit
in anywhere else, including news, publications and fun.
Puzzles and Activities - Includes some science based and some not,
fun activities either online or to print out.
Internet lessons - various internet based lessons including links
and worksheets.
Interactive quizzes - these are made using the Hot Potatoes program
and I shall be adding to the current ones when I get the chance.
Worksheets - some question sheets / information that I have produced
over the last few years of teaching - might be of some use to someone
else out there!
